Water conflict and cooperation are complex phenomena that need to be understood in their hydrological, environmental, socioeconomic, political and cultural context. This course provides a comprehensive introduction to water conflict analysis, theories of water conflict and cooperation as well as and water law and cooperative water resources governance. Theoretical inputs are being combined with ample examples from water conflict and cooperation at local, national, basin and international levels through which students apply the theories and approaches studied and gather first conflict management and negotiation insights.
